Granite Mountain - by snowloverSaturday, July 24, 2010
Great hike, Great day. It was more of a challenge than I expected with my 40+ lb pack. It was harder on my old knees than Camp Muir 2 weeks ago. Great Views and trail nearly clear. Some snow in the small valley just east of the lookout. There were several ladies from a group of cancer survivors hiking today which was the same group that hiked Muir when I did 2 weeks ago. There also was a marriage proposal. The guys friends hike up before them, left a well stocked picnic, complete with win.....

Granite Mountain - by dangalSunday, October 11, 2009
First time doing Granite. Arrived at the trailhead with two friends and my two dogs. Cold morning but clear and sunny. Parking lot was nearly full already. Little worried we could see and hear I-90 but very soon didn't care. Easygoing first mile with forest canopy, then exited the treeline and started gaining elevation steadily. Trail was populated but after two miles or so was treated to view after view all the way up. It's a thigh burner, a rocky and moderately steep trial, but we.....

Granite Mountain - by ybonicsSunday, October 11, 2009
Picture perfect day for this hike. The trail was completely clear, though it was pretty cold and there was a tiny bit of snow on the side. The autumn colors are all out right now and the views on the hike were spectacular. This is a really great hike and the trail condition was perfect the whole way, with no need to scramble to get to the top. Panoramic view at the top of Mt Rainer and all the other mountains in the area. Bring some extra layers at the top.
