Holder Knob via Holder Ridge - Taylor Mtn park
A favorite simple exercise route. This time with 45 pounds in my backpack. About a 2.2 mile loop. You gain 400 ft, lose 300, then gain 600 for a total of 1000 ft in about 2 miles. Tons of flowers, but today it should be renamed Garter Snake trail. Saw a couple of dozen and heard many more slithering away. Not a snake fan myself.

Took the family for a walk around the pond today. The weather was great and we only saw one other person out. There were tons of wildflowers to be seen along the trail in colors of white, yellow purple and orange. Not much wildlife out today, only a lone chipmunk.

it was a beautiful day there were not very many people on the trails. the view is gorgeous and the fact that dogs are allowed made it better.

Unexpected snow covering trail in meadows. We hiked to Watson Lakes only. The trail was hard to follow in one snowy area. Lakes are absolutely beautiful!

OTTER FALLS in North Bend. 7.5 miles round trip unless you add Big Creek Falls which puts you at 9 miles. Nice hike without too much elevation gain. Just going over the hill to the falls is elevated. Pretty forest and follows the river for most of the hike. Otter Falls is the 3rd biggest falls in the state which empties into one of the smallest alpine lakes. People were sliding down the very end of the falls into the lake. Was a nice place to visit and enjoy the falls. Lots of hiking in this area.

8am hit the trail. Went straight for the lake, not a soul in site (on the Greg Ball trail). It was foggy and I did not look close enough at the map to see which way to go on logging road near the top. So I did not go to the lake. Went back to the falls instead. Many 'hikers'. And lots of 'hikers' wearing golf outfits and church clothing with no equipment, not even water. What are you thinking, people?

Snoqualmie point, east towards Rattlesnake Ledges
Great trail. Top half was in perfect condition. Bottom was getting overgrown by new bushes. Close to home, yet not crowded like the Rattlesnake side. Hiked 5 miles each way, just past West summit. Only saw 12 others. Not difficult at all, but easy yet constant climb. Might try the 10+ one way hike from Rattlesnake to this trail head.

Greider Lakes

I was headed up to Boulder Lake and Greider Lakes to explore some possible hike in camping sites and found the gate is closed at Site 3. You have to park at the south shore boat launch. There is what looks like a temporary trail to the road that takes you to Boulder Lake and Greider Lakes trailheads. This made the trip up to Greider about 8 miles instead of 5. On the road to the trailhead, there are large ditches where the new coverts are being installed and there is a temporary trail around one of the largest ditches. Watch out for construction vehicles and equipment as you make your way to the trailhead.
On the trail, there are some wooden steps and planks that have broken loose and...
