Heather Lake - by arusho Saturday, July 31, 2010
Portrait for arusho Great trail and good hike, with just a couple of steep parts, but mostly intermediate. The lake is beautiful and the large bathing rocks near the back will be great on a hot summer day. I'd like to go back and swim then. Today was not hot enough, and it started to cloud over as I left.

Annette Lake - by freespirit444 Saturday, July 31, 2010
Portrait for freespirit444 Nice area with great trails. The lake was peaceful and cool at the end of a pretty good workout! Campground was clean. Son enjoyed building a dam in one of the little streams. Wish I could have stayed overnight!!

Crystal Lakes - by freespirit444 Friday, July 30, 2010
Portrait for freespirit444 I can only rate this an 8 because the views were good but we didn't make it to the lakes because I didn't look ahead at the hike status and wasn't expecting a hike this steep for this day. I so want to go again and plan better! Very peaceful up here and not a whole lot of people. Parking area small so come early! Or late in the day.

Camp Muir - by snowlover Friday, July 30, 2010
Portrait for snowlover We actually thought that hiking 100+ miles with packs would prepare us for a summit attempt. Becoming a strong hiker is only part of the equation. As a team, we chose to abandon our attempt after all of us were some degree less than 100% ready. Better safe than sorry. We have learned that hiking endurance is only 1 of the keys. You must be mentally prepared for what gets thrown your way. 1:00 am in the dark, after a few uncomfortable hours of rest, in 30mph winds, it is a challenge to get your gear on, and be ready to climb safely. We live to try again if we choose, and if we don' try again, hikes like Snoq. to Stevens may be more our style. There is no substitute for training @ ...

Franklin Falls - by smitchell112 Friday, July 30, 2010
No portrait for smitchell112 Great short little hike. Easy hike to do, but a really pretty and big waterfall, probably 80ft tall or so. One problem is the number of people, but then that is to be expected for hikes like this and of this distance.

Glacier Basin - Monte Cristo - by smitchell112 Tuesday, July 27, 2010
No portrait for smitchell112 Good Hike, we just did the 4miles up to Monte Cristo and turned back after that, made it about a 8mile round trip hike. We saw hardly anyone else on the way up and about 4 or 5 groups on the way back. The ruins were really cool and had about 5 or 6 buildings and a bunch of other neat stuff you can look around at. Some fairly pretty views on the way up. Good hike for a day hike, would make a good pack trip up into Glacier Basin, Silver Lakes, or Twin Lakes.

Green Lake Park - by pnwhikes Monday, July 26, 2010
Portrait for pnwhikes It was a beautiful day to walk around Green Lake today. I thought the crowds wouldn't be too bad since it was Monday but I was wrong. Tons of people were out doing the usual Green Lake stuff.

Annette Lake - by larryjaquish Saturday, July 24, 2010
Portrait for larryjaquish Just completed a nice hike to Annette Lake. The first three miles are a steady climb with heavy wooded cover and few views. The lake is very nice and worth the hike. My brother and I fly fished and had constant action and each caught several nice native rainbows a great day.
