Siouxon - by blossom Wednesday, August 11, 2010
No portrait for blossom Sioxon valley to Sioxon peak. We had planed an 18 mile trek over Sioxon Peak. A stones throw away from the peak we had to turn back due to an impassible landslide. I do not recommend anyone trying to cross the landslide. It is very steep and still has rocks falling. We tried to find a way around but it is on a pretty steep ridge and I am not much of a climber. If anyone would like to try for Sioxon peak they should take the wildcat creek trail instead of trail 301A. Well worth it for the three mountain view.

Twin Falls - by Jen Monday, August 09, 2010
No portrait for Jen This was a great hike! It goes up and down both ways so you don't have to go straight up the entire way there or straight down the entire way back. There are forest and water views and the falls are much more impressive than I'd hoped for. I will definately do this one again.

Chirico Trail - by Jen Thursday, August 05, 2010
No portrait for Jen I decided to try hiking and this is the first one I went on. For someone whose exercise consists of yoga once or twice a week it was a bit challanging :) It was very beautiful though and I didn't see too many other people around. I'll try this one again but will do some easier ones to work up to it!

Other - by Ndcole Thursday, August 05, 2010
No portrait for Ndcole Tahoe Rim Trail starting at Mt. Rose Summit in Nevada. Started on the Interpretive trail and headed towards the Mr. Rose campground (for 0.5 mi) before going across the highway to the Mt. Rose Summit. It was a long hike, steep at first, then fairly flat from then on. Great plants and saw a tree in which a bear used to sharpen it's nails. We stopped at the waterfall, which was beautiful, before heading back.

Gold Creek Valley - by smitchell112 Wednesday, August 04, 2010
No portrait for smitchell112 WTA Trail Maintenance trip, 1.5miles in to work site and then 1.5miles out. Very very pretty trail. The avalanche area is really cool. The only way to access this trail other than on a work party is by going through the Alaska lake trail head and hiking a LONG ways. But once the trail is finished it will be a really neat hike. Volunteering with WTA is really the best way to access this trail.
