Snoquera Falls - by mikebowen Saturday, March 06, 2010
No portrait for mikebowen First time doing this hike. It was pretty tame...the last 1/8 mile or so before the falls was pretty rocky so watch your step here. Trail was is in great shape, couple muddy spots but really not bad at all. Saw a couple other groups and a boy scout group from Camp Sheppard.

The scenery around the falls was amazing...just wish there was more water running through it! We are definitely going to come back after a more wet winter.

Mailbox Peak - by jcrowe Saturday, March 06, 2010
No portrait for jcrowe First time hiking Mailbox. Definitely a difficult hike but no way near impossible. Slow and steady. The times I read were right...a little under 2:30 hrs up and under 2 hrs down. It was a beautiful day and only the last 50 feet had some slush...perfect conditions and not the least bit crowded.

Portrait for freespirit444 Not tons to see but an AWESOME workout in a short amount of time. If you are heading around Enumclaw check out Mt. Peak, also known as Mt. Peak, but the real name is Pinnacle Peak. 1 mile up with 1000 feet elevation gain. It showed me I really am NOT in that good of shape no matter how ofter I hike! :-) I loved it beacause it really was steep and a great workout and an achievement. Loved the dedications up there. Memeorials. It was cool!!!

Cougar Mountain Regional Wildland Park - by freespirit444 Sunday, February 28, 2010
Portrait for freespirit444 I did the trailhead off of HWY 900 in Renton. What a great workout trail. Steep but also peaceful with lots to look out. Streams. Little bridges. Huge rocks. I was only able to do 3/4 of a mile up since I was on a time limit but i plan to go back and I plan to explore, just like the other Cougar Mountain trailheads, the many trail options.

Priest Point Park - by freespirit444 Saturday, February 27, 2010
Portrait for freespirit444 This was a beautiful walk through the woods. I really didn't expect what looked like a mountain rainforest in the middle of Olympia. The trail system here is interesting where as the trails twist together in a maze that you cannot get lost in! We walked the upper part of the park in a loop'ish'. Then did Ellis Cove one way and stopped because my son wanted to find the beach and the stairs 'up' were not leading to it (fast enough, but I didn't tell him that). Then we went the other way and stopped because the trail had been kind of washed away a bit and the mud we sank into to tried to take my sons shoes off so we turned around. :-) It was very pretty and relax...

Skookum Falls - by dreamlessleep Monday, February 22, 2010
Portrait for dreamlessleep This is really the Skookum Flats hike. The tiny trail up to the base of the falls was nearly non-existent due to slides and blow-downs, but we picked our way to the base and sat without sharing it with a other person. The vegetation along the edge of the falls was still encased in ice, like nature's own display case. It was gorgeous. Some stop at the falls and then turn back, but we kept going to Buck Creek where we sat over looking the water and had lunch before turning back for the trailhead. For a late winter, early spring hike to get you ready for the season that gives you plenty of solitude, you can't beat this hike.
