Rattlesnake Mountain - by hyperglide Saturday, April 03, 2010
No portrait for hyperglide We arrived at 11am and glad we did as the amount of hikers increased rapidly and parking became scarce. Great hike although extremely windy at the top of Rattlesnake Ledge.
Kids (7,6,3 1/2) all did great with the number of switchbacks in the hike.

Boulder Lakes - by justinc Sunday, March 28, 2010
No portrait for justinc The intent of this hike was to get to the primitive (unmaintained) Olympic Hot Springs (not to be confused with the maintained and crowded Sol Duc Hot Springs). The initial 2.2 miles of this trail follows the paved roadway that used to be drivable up to within a couple hundred feet of the hot springs. It is an easy trek up to the 8 or so primitive hot spring pools. The springs vary in temperature from luke warm to hot tub hot (110 degrees) depending on the pool you use. Signs at the trailhead warn that use of the hot springs is not recommended during the drier summer months, when the water is more stagnant and may have high levels of bacteria. On this particular day, it was raining and ...

Mount Si - by kstobie Saturday, March 27, 2010
Portrait for kstobie After tiger mountain last month, I began training for the Grand Canyon in earnest with a hike up Mt. Si. Up in 2 hours and 15 minutes with a couple short breaks. Very windy on top. Walked around a bit more on top than previous visits. Patches of snow on top with slush on the trail from the top of tree line to below actual Mt. Si peak. Hazy atmosphere making Mt. Rainier not very distinct.

Other - by RBeresh Friday, March 26, 2010
No portrait for RBeresh Coyote Wall, Bingen Washington.
This trail is located in the Columbia River Gorge. I've been wanting to add it to my list and yesterday was able to hike it with my neighbor. It was really nicer than expected and offered yet something different than past hikes. Weather was great
