Mount Si - by heyjoe3577 Saturday, June 12, 2010
No portrait for heyjoe3577 My buddy and I got to the trailhead at 6:45 and when we came back at 11:00 the lot was OVERFLOWING with cars. It felt like a mall parking lot, with folks waiting to take our spot.

Twin Falls - by freespirit444 Saturday, June 12, 2010
Portrait for freespirit444 Did this hike for the second time today, this time going on further then the falls. The scenery gets pretty consistant after the falls so we turned around. Lots of people, parked a walk from the parking area. The falls were as magnificent as ever!!!! Although, up/down elevation and some stairs, even with a broken toe, it is possible. TEE HEE which I have proved!

Greenwater Lakes - by Polaris Saturday, June 12, 2010
Portrait for Polaris Hiked up to the first lake today! The weather was perfect! There were quite a few people on the trail and camping up at the lake. The trail was pretty soggy/muddy today but no snow. Over all fun easy hike and beautiful scenery!

Heather Lake - by Ndcole Saturday, June 12, 2010
No portrait for Ndcole It was a great day for a hike. The trail was in good condition. There was several places that was really muddy. Remember to bring your bug spray, lots of bugs at the lake. Last year at this same time there was snow near the end of the hike, where we had to hike through it, however, this year there was barely any snow around the lake. I would say that if you have weak ankles to wear hiking boots. My two companions both had ankle problems while on this hike in tennis shoes. The trail is often rocky.

Thunder Creek - by jbaker Tuesday, June 08, 2010
Portrait for jbaker My brother, my nephew and myself, (all of us new to backpacking) did this as part of a 3 day trip this week. This was our first backpacking experience and we hiked up to Camp McAllister, 10 miles one way. We stayed 2 nights returning on Thursday afternoon. The trail was only sightly muddy in small spots and certainly nothing to worry about although it was steeper in places than we had anticipated. The green trails map hasn't been updated since 2004 but the trail is well marked the entire distance. There are several foot bridges which cross a few large streams and only a couple of streams we had to walk through but they were only a few inches deep. There are only a couple of places along ...

Heather Lake - by mosspatch Tuesday, June 08, 2010
No portrait for mosspatch This is a challenging but amazing trail. I read a few trip reports about it before heading up, and I'm surprised at some of the impressions people have, especially the beginning of the trail. Granted, the first mile or so wont be on any postcards, but I was impressed and humbled by the power of nature, walking thru a forest whose undergrowth is seemingly destroyed by the winter weather. The same thing that gives the forest its beauty will destroy it at will, a symmetry I can appreciate.

The challenging nature of this trail and reward at the end brought me spiritual release tonight. Like a ton of bricks, it was made clear to me that my lofty goals for hiking and backpacking this ye...

Tiger Mountain - by Polaris Sunday, June 06, 2010
Portrait for Polaris Parked at Tiger Summit trailhead. Walked up to Iverson Railroad trailhead. Hiked 1.5 miles on Iverson RR Tr. The trail was pretty muddy from all the rain we had in the last few weeks. Plus you could tell there had been quite a few bikes on the trail. We came out onto the west side forest road. Hiked down a few feet to Holder Creek and took a quick break by the water. Then climbed back up to the road and walked on west side rd. for another 1.5 miles and back to the car. Crowds were lighter then I thought they were going to be, probably because it was raining. Overall it was a good hike, quick and simple no real veiw, it made the dog tired which was my goal.
