Tiger Mountain - by freespirit444 Friday, July 02, 2010
Portrait for freespirit444 Quick late hike on the Tiger Mountain Trails! Went to the bat cave and then got lost taking trails here and there
until we saw what we recognized. Fun. Got poured on though. Swamp Monster trail reports a bear.

Chirico Trail - by snowlover Thursday, July 01, 2010
Portrait for snowlover Actually have done this about 6 times since May. Started with only water bottle and now go with 40 pound pack. On days the sun is out, it is fun to watch parasailers launch. MIght have to try that some day.

Rattlesnake Mountain - by malkoc Sunday, June 27, 2010
No portrait for malkoc This was my first time hiking at this Mt. I went all the way up to the East Peak in 1 1/2 hrs with a fast paced of mine. I jogged on and off all the way down in about 1 hr. The views from the East Peak are alright, but I think the ledge is where one would get the most delightful overlook to the valley and the lakes. If you want a little quieter but a smaller ledge with the same views, you can hike up another 1/2 mile towards the East Peak, and you won't miss it if you follow the trail to your right (30 yd.) when it forks. It was so great to see a ton of teens and kids enjoying, evidently, the most popular hike in the area.

Other - by jarodmartin Saturday, June 26, 2010
No portrait for jarodmartin The hike to Eight Mile Lake can be done in an afternoon or a couple days if you want. I went up with an 80 pound pack so the hike seemed harder than it probably is. It took several hours but the top is worth it. Stayed the night and left in the morning. There is only a few campsites at the top so try and get there early if you plan on camping. The lake is absolutely beautiful.

Taylor Mountain - by freespirit444 Saturday, June 26, 2010
Portrait for freespirit444 I have always gone to the normal trailhead for Taylor Mountain and this time I went on the logging roads. Very basic. Easy. Minimal elevation on the roads I chose to take. Peaceful! We found deer, elk, and bear tracks. Very nice! Liked the little pond we stopped at to play a bit. I really do like Taylor Mountain and one day will finish exploring all the accessible roads and trails.

Greenwater Lakes - by dmpjporter94 Saturday, June 26, 2010
No portrait for dmpjporter94 Since the weather did not want to participate during our first try at this hike, we decided to take another shot, and I am glad we did. We started out with plans to either hike to Echo or Lost Lake and hit the trail head at about 9:20 AM or so. The parking lot was prettyfull, but we only enountered a few people on the way in and several more on the way out. We hiked in to the Y in the trail for Echo or Lost Lake and the kids decided on Lost Lake so we headed that direction. The trail changes a lot once you get past Greenwater Lakes and becomes more up and down instead of the mostly flat and easy elevations at the beginning. At about the 3.5 mile mark, we stopped for a break and decided that ...

Shi Shi Beach - by mrdealio Friday, June 25, 2010
Portrait for mrdealio Shi Is one of my Favorite places in Washington and my heart is pounding harder right now just thinking of its beauty!! A must see before you die! The trail starts off a little muddy but no problem for the hikers with boots and gators. I did see a few sandles that the mud had claimed. My friends with tennis shoes were very jelouse of us who came prepared. We caught the tide just right and walked out on the harder sand and saved our selves some major time and effort. Rain or shine this place is magic! There are two steams to get water from on the beach and many places to set up camp. Fires are permited and you will not run out of wood!

June Lake - by Dean Wednesday, June 23, 2010
No portrait for Dean We try to hike to June Lake early each year. It is a great start to the season. This year was no eception. The waterfalls at the lake are best in the early summer. Late summer often has them nearly dry.
