This was an awesome, perfectly clear day for this hike. I read different hike reports and heard it was 5 miles and 6 miles. The markers up at Sunrise indicate it is 2.2 miles from the visitor center to the Mount Fremont Trailhead and then another 1.3 miles to the lookout (which is super awesome by the way)! The climb is steady but up and very rocky at the end. Drop offs to the side but little man (7) wasn't even a worry. Younger and you may want to hold a hand! The views from the very beginning ot the hike were awsome but once you got to Frozen Lake they were spectacular at every angle!!!! The lookout was super awsome (did I mention that?) and the views from the lookout were amazing! We saw Mount Baker and another Peak which I am not sure the name. We also got to glimpse a mountain goat, 3 deer or elk (to far away) playing and running in the snow. And on the way out from the hike we got to see an elk with antlers and Mount St. Helens so close you can touch it. Was sooooo cooooolllllll!!!
