 | WOW - I knew I was not that fit and this hike proved it - I DID make it all the way to the lake (and back) though :)
For a very nice fall day and a free day (no NW forest service pass was required this weekend) and from what I read about this trail being crowded, there was very few people. I left the trail head at 8:45AM and did not see anyone for the first hour - and then it was by people behind me that passed me.  | All I can say is WOW. The terrain contained rocks and switchbacks the majority of the way. Hard on the ankles! Many views were in the open. Melakwa Lake was peaceful and rewarding. It took us 6 1/2 hours to complete. View Full Report | Miles Hiked: | 9 |
